Cut before the seed heads set
Mowing weeds before they go to seed means fewer of them next year. Leave it until fall and you've planted next season's crop.

Flag the hazards first
Stumps, old T-posts, fence wire, rocks and holes are what break equipment in a field. Mark anything you know about before the first cut.

Cedars are why you mow yearly
Eastern red cedar seedlings come up fast in open Tennessee ground. Cut every year and they never get going; skip a few and they're past what a mower will take.

Wait for the ground to dry
A heavy machine on wet clay tears the field up and leaves ruts that stay for years. The first cut of the season waits on the ground, not the calendar.

No. This is cutting only — not grading, not taking out trees, not clearing for a build. If that's what you need, we'll point you at somebody set up for it.
