Clip lights on, never nail them
Nails and staples through shingles or fascia leave holes that let water in long after the lights come down. Gutter and shingle clips hold them just as well.

What we know
Useful whether or not you ever call us.
01
Nails and staples through shingles or fascia leave holes that let water in long after the lights come down. Gutter and shingle clips hold them just as well.
02
Outdoor lights belong on a ground-fault outlet, and not all of them on one. A cord run through a shut door or window gets pinched and wears through.
03
A timer or photocell turns them on at dusk and off at a set time, so nobody has to remember. LED strands barely register on the power bill either way.
04
Strands wrapped tight and left up year-round cut into branches as the tree grows. Take them down every season.
Questions
Before October 15. That's when our book closes, because installs run from right after Halloween into early December and there are only so many days in that window.
Neither, exactly. The lights are ours — we hang them, service them, take them down in January and store them, all in one price.
No. You don't need to be home for the install or the takedown.
No. Permanent systems get wired into the house, which is electrical work. Ours plug into an outlet you already have.
